Next chapter: Absolute Radio and Q Magazine

So it’s been A WHILE
I’ve been on a bit of a journey. After a lot of thought I decided to leave XFM after two very happy years there and move to Absolute to team up with Q Magazine on a new music show called the Sunday Night Music Club. I took a 3 month break between gigs and did a bit of travelling.. drove through Death Valley, had a beer in San Francisco, played a gig in Czech Republic, toured the UK and spent some time with a dear friend in Barcelona. So feet now firmly on the floor..

So now, Monday to Friday I look after things on Absolute Radio, where they have the broadest playlist and also promise not to repeat ONE song between 9am and 6pm everyday.. that’s a lot of music! And then Sundays, it’s over to what I love best… to seek out and celebrate the best in new music, often searching for the underdog who doesn’t have the contacts, or the budget to be top dog all the time.

The Sunday Night Music Club airs from 8pm-12midnight on Sundays across the UK. Each week I team up with a member of the Q Magazine Editorial team to discuss some of the biggest stories, releases and gigs of each week and we strive to always bring a different slant or question to each band or artist we spend time with. Absolutely NO ONE, not the musician, reader or listener wants to hear the same old overused questions again and again. BORING.

So there it is, the next chapter. We’ve been on air for 2 weeks so far and have had Richard Hawley on the show, and Felix from The Maccabees talking about their first No. 1 album Marks To Prove It. So well deserved gents.

Here’s a bit more info about the new show and collaboration. You can always listen back to. The first 2 weeks highlites are below..
